He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Trento. Umberto has around 20 years of international banking experience gained from various banks in Europe.

Starting in the forfaiting market, he moved to more structured trade transactions. Previously spending ten years as a representative of Standard Bank, Milan has also been involved in banking, project finance, base and precious metals, energy and treasury. Before joining Standard Bank, Umberto worked in London for Bank of America, Standard Bank and Banco Santander. His corporate coverage spans the globe, from Sub-Saharan Africa to Eastern Europe and Latin America.

In 2010 he founded together with other partners TFA Trade Finance Advisors SA, a company focused on advisory for trade finance transactions.
